The Market Celebrates Easter in Lockdown

The easing of restrictions just about allowed the visit of the Easter bunny to the Market this year. Residents of all ages were delighted when the furry rabbit showed up at their doors with chocolate and gifts. It felt like the first day of Spring as the sun was shining warmly and it seemed like the whole district was out celebrating the event. We would like to say a MASSIVE thank-you to the Easter Bunny for visiting us this year!

At Easter the MDA and our team of volunteers, again, delivered over 250 Solidarity Packs to the pensioners in the area. The packs included fresh fruit and vegetables, fresh meat parcels, potato bread & soda bread, tinned goods, teabags and juice – plenty to keep our pensioners going over the Easter Weekend! This was the last pack as restrictions were beginning to lift. A big thank you to all volunteers and suppliers who contributed their time and resources to organising and distributing the Solidarity Packs over the last 15 months!
